Forza – Yes I’m A Geek

Monday, June 18th, 2007

You all know I’m a nerd … you’ve seen it … you’ve dealt with it … but with this week’s obsession, I may be juuuuuuust over the geek limit …

So these were created with the Forza in-game livery editor … using only basic geometric shapes … granted my logo isn’t all that hard to recreate, but keep in mind that we’re just talking about building an image from circles and squares, NOT drawing things freehand … which actually makes that Mini that much more impressive … I didn’t do that one, I just bought it at the Auction House …

Who’s a geek? You know it!

A Little Late In The Coming

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

I should have put these up a little earlier … but with a lot of the paperwork out of the way and a package arriving at the mother in law’s … this seemed a good a time as any …

Achievement - House

Achievement - Dell

Yeah in case you missed it I did cave and buy a Dell … I couldn’t help myself, it was a pretty good deal! And as I’m looking at my 22″ widescreen monitor I don’t think I’ll be feeling all THAT bad …

Bowling With Matt Stajan

Friday, June 1st, 2007

So last night was the 3rd Annual Bowling Night for the Peel Children’s Centre … we’ve gone to each one thus far … last year Shari and I really cleaned up with the door crashers … the most notable things we walked away with were tickets for the Shaw Festival and a set of Blue Jays tickets … we were wondering how on earth we would be able to top that for this year …

Matt Stajan and the Boys

That’s Matt Stajan. For those of you who may not know, he’s a Maple Leaf. A pretty good one too. From right here in the GTA. He was the celebrity spokesperson for the event. And they held a draw for one team to bowl a frame with him.

That team was ours. I think we topped last year.

April Fools – Online Style

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

So … I generally only sign onto Guild Wars once in a blue moon … I know, it’s the fault of that damned XBox … but I do like to sign in and make sure that my account hasn’t been hacked or anything like that … so I sign in breifly yesterday and found this …

Crom - Before and After

Apparently if you leave your characters alone for too long, they start to question some basic fundamentals about themselves … :D … as a prank it seems the developers did this gender flip with ALL characters … for the brief time I was online there was a whole lot of discussions which started with ‘WTF I’m a chick!’ …

In other news, Shari successfully pulled off not one but TWO Stampin Up sessions yesterday … the house was quite busy as all kinds of ladies were coming and going … thank god I had Scott, Kelly and Lee to keep me company … and so we could bust out some mutliplayer XBox action … do you see how’s it’s the fault of that box? It’s just too much fun!

Let It Snow

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Whew … where the hell is all this white stuff coming from? For those of you who read this blog and may be living somewhere outside of the Ontario region … oh I don’t know, say on a cruise ship or something … we’ve received a lot of snow … AGAIN …

Speaking of snowy days … Shari and I picked up our wedding photos yesterday … YEE HAW!!! They numbered in at 1694 photos … yikes! We love them all, and we’ve gotta give a big shout out to our photogrpaher Jimmy … he and his associates did a fantastic job!

Oh yeah … and someone (namely Scott) pointed out that if I’ve reached 3000 gamerpoints on XBox Live, then clearly I’ve got too much free time … I’d like to counter with the fact that maybe I’ve just got too much skill … unlike other people who have yet to break a thousand … do you maybe want me to sign in on your account and get you some points buddy? Hmmm?

EDIT – No we will not be putting all 1700 photos online … yes we will be putting some up, you just need to give Shari and I a little bit of time to sort through them … please and thanks!

What Did YOU Get Your Sweetie?

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Me? I got her about a foot of snow … I’m not trying to say that earned some kind of record or anything … not even an achievement?

Shari and I had a nice day … she still had to go to work, but thanks to the miracles of technology I did a work from home day … and yes, I know we rent but I still did some shovelling … I had to address our front walk AND our two parking spaces …

What about the whole Valentine’s Day thing? Shari got flowers at work … and then I took her out to the most special and romantic of places … Swiss Chalet … which is, in case you didn’t know, ACTUALLY one of Shari’s favourite places to eat … so I don’t want to hear any cat calls or cries of cheapskate or anything …

We then finished the evening by watching The Departed … Morgan was over to enjoy it as well … there’s nothing more romantic than a bunch of Irish mob guys whacking each other …

Fresh Ink

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

So I received my birthday present a little early this year … I’ve been DYING for a new tattoo … Shari can attest to how much I’ve been driving her nuts, ever since we started watching Miami Ink … every week, it’s been ‘you know what I COULD get …’

So my lovely fiance and several friends all chipped in a couple of bucks and voila! Fresh ink! So what does it mean? Well … Shari loves suns and moons … LOVES them … she’s actually got a little sun tattoo on the back of her right shoulder … soooo … this is my tribute to the love of my life … I got her a ring, she got me a tattoo …

Now she will argue that she ACTUALLY bought me an engagement bicycle … however I think the engagement tattoo is a much better sounding idea … :D

Oooooooh! Scary Stuff Kids!

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Alright … I’m a geek … I spent the latter part of my All Hallow’s Eve online … but there was a damned good reason for it … check out the cool stuff that was happening in Guild Wars! This is the second annual celebration that they’ve had for Halloween … they modify a number of the towns to reflect the holiday spirit … PLUS … you can get special head gear … which is being modelled here by two of my oldest characters in the game …

Aside from that, a little gaggle of us went to the theatre to check out Nightmare Before Christmas … in 3D … it appeared to be the same kind of tech which they use down in Disney on their 3D rides … I just don’t know if it’s such a good idea to sit through 2 hours of a movie with that effect happening … but it was fun nonetheless … now … if they redo Toy Story with this 3D … ohhhh … yeaaaahhhh …

Bye Bye Baby Bear-io

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

On Monday October 23rd, Shari and I said goodbye to a dear family member, Freedom. For those of you who didn’t know, she has been having problems as of late, mostly mental. We had tried several medications with her, but they all seemed to last only temporarily.  I personally was only her Daddy for a little under two years. Within that short time thou I fell totally and completely in love with her. This was her gift, for anyone who ever met her fell under her charm. That big pink tongue went a LONG way to making new friends.

I will miss her rumbling towards the front door when I come home. I will miss having the ‘barking’ fights that we used to have. I will miss the big nose and wet tongue waking me up in the mornings. Most of all, I will miss the selfless love that she gave to me and everyone she ever met.

Goodbye my Baby Bear-io. You be a good girl, OK?

Gift Registry

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

So Shari and I have basically completed our registry … I’m sure we’ll end up having to add a few more items here and there … I’m thinking I need to slip THIS onto the list somehow … ohhhhh … YEAH …

Remember that Tom Berringer / Billy Zane movie?

This is how I’m going to surprise Shari one of these nights …
