So I’m watching the news this morning and they announce that 6/49 is up to 43 million … they can’t do that to me … I then spent the entire train ride in spending every cent of that 43 million …

No you can’t have any of my millions … if you’re destined to have some, you’ll be notified in due course … however, it’s not likely …

What i found odd is that instead of wanting to blow that money on stupid things for myself … I did actually start by thinking of whom I’d like to help out with that kind of money … like family and friends, but also charities … I must be getting older if I’m not thinking of stupid things to spend it on but instead of how I could help out the world around me …

But I would get a pair of rigs from these guys …

Good morning everyone!  I’m out in Windsor on this fine Fourth of July weekend … why you may ask?  Well it has to do with the fact that one of my best friends Mr. Nardone is getting married this weekend … sucker, heh heh heh …

So I took the train out here last night … and let me tell you it was NIIICE … although there was a moment where it came close to being the exact opposite … last time I took the VIA train, only the first class passengers were given access to power outlets … well this laptop that I work from hasn’t had a battery that’s held a charge in about three years.  So when I sat down in coach, no sign of a power outlet.  Oops.  Well, it turns out that the person next to me was just blocking it, and she got off before London … YAY!!!  ADD Boy was satiated!

This also represents the longest that I’ve been away from Brianna thus far.  THAT’S … a beast of a different nature altogether.  Sure you may say I was able to get some sleep last night.  However when I woke this morning I wanted to go and see my baby and hold her in my arms.  It was a little heart wrenching to tell the truth … oh yeah, I miss my wife a little too …

OK … time to go get ready to watch Nardone take the plunge … I gotta try and remember my catholic wedding routines … stand up sit down kneel down and peace be with you yadda yadda yadda …

So what’s the status on Squirt? Well she’s up above her target weight … 1800 grams … so she’s out of the incubator / isolette whatever you want to call it … and she’s out in a basonette … the weight thing was basically just a target for her to be able to regulate her own temperature … she needed a little bit more fat on her frame …

She’s doing well with her feedings … we’re currently trying to introduce her to bottle feeding, which she’s doing OK with … she’s really doing well with the breast feeding, and Shari’s basically putting out enough milk to make Beatrice jealous ….

And then there’s the heart flutters … which is where she basically forgets to keep her heart going … she’s supposed to go seven days without having an episode, and right now she’s at day 3 I believe … maybe I should be switching that banner up top from the announcement to a counter listing off all of her current accomplishments!

Shari and I are doing well … we’re both a little tired … and yes, we realize that the hard part hasn’t even really begun yet … but we’re both just soo damned happy that I don’t think either of us really notices just how tired we are!

On a related note … Parvati wins the latest round of Survivor? Are you kidding me? Granted the Carder household didn’t think that Amanda had done anything special to earn it either … but we felt that it really should have gone the other way …

So clearly grandpa is a happy happy man … he’s just brimming over with joy for the arrival of Baby Brianna … the other grandparents are happy, don’t get me wrong … but for the first time Grandpa? Wow … he’s just ecstatic!

The Iron Man movie? Awesome … if you’re going to take it in, make sure you stay through to the end of the credits … there’s such a HUGE bit of fan service, it’s not even funny … as a matter of fact, I actually screamed out loud in happiness …

OK … back to kiddo … her weight is up … she’s trying breast feeding but she’s still a little weak to do it properly … and she’s had some heart ‘flutters’ … there’s a term for them, but I can’t recall it … these are three of the last big obstacles before she comes home … but Mommy and I are DYING to bring her home … I just wanna be able to play with her any time I want without having to drive down to the hospital!

You wanna know why I’m in trouble? Look at that face and tell me that your heart doesn’t just melt away!

So here’s the update on squirt. She’s doing great. She was a little jaundiced so she’s been getting the tanning bed treatment … that’s what that purple thing is doing there, it’s a set of shades to protect her precious little eyes … she DID have some lung troubles so they had her in an oxygen bubble … which made her look like a little space cadet …

Those lung problems have gone away so she’s out of there … and she’s off her IV because she’s taking down 35 cc’s of mom’s breast milk … so the bottom line is that she’s doing great!

Mom and I … well that’s a different story … beyond the lack of sleep, Shari’s also dealing with an infection … but she’s on meds now so that should hopefully be clearing up. Me? I can’t really complain … after all I’ve got 24 hour on duty nurses changing the diapers for my kid right now! All I have to do is just show up and love her!

Good evening all! This is DADDY Carder talking here! That’s right … someone arrived a LITTLE bit early …

Brianna Soleil Carder arrived at 9am on April 24th … at an amazing 8 weeks early … so I know your first concern will be health concerns … the first big concern is her lungs not being fully developed … however she must have not received that memo as kiddo is breathing room air without assistance … if that’s not a sign of Carder – Deller stubborness, I don’t know what is … ‘Oh I can’t BREATHE your air? Well let’s just see what I can and can’t do …’

Mom’s doing really well … 3 sets of contractions and then BAM kiddo was in the world … no help from the doc, no help from the kid herself (she was still too young and weak to help) so it was ALLL mom … and she did great! She’s off her meds and will be home on Saturday … the squirt will be staying in the hospital for a little longer until those lungs of hers develop a little further and she puts on a couple more pounds … coming in at 3 pounds 11.5 ounces she’s got to put a little bit more on …

I’ll try and get some photos uploaded and attched to this post. In the meantime … keep some good thoughts for the munchkin … and we’ll talk to you all very very soon!

OK … so we’re back from the ultrasound … and the kid is definately swimming around in there!

So this is the kid … he or she is facing down, and you can see their massive melon on the left … if you look real close you can see the spine along the top … it does have arms and legs, it just decided not to show off the mighty pipes for this particular suite of photos …

Leander pointed out to me on Facebook that I had unlocked an achievement … I just forgot to post it is all …

Shari and I were up in Stoufville visiting the rents on Monday … because of my birthday … and Mom brought out was is officially the first gifts for the baby … a pair of little jumpers … they were cute and all … but Mom started walking them around the room … THAT … was when this pregnancy took a step to a WHOLE new level … at this time next year, that little jumper will be filled with a mini me … and Shari of course …

OK … so I saw this in an article … and I thought I’d better post a reminder for myself up here … I’m hoping that book is going to be as good as I hope it will be …

Two things … number one, an old favourite has just put their archives back up online … Mac Hall baby! The guys who originally did it are now doing a little art house piece called Three Panel Soul … which is great artistically but nowhere near as funny as Mac Hall used to be …

And Number Two is my addiction to Forza is not relenting …

So the Brock Samson car … I drew that myself using the in game editor which ONLY allows basic primitive shapes … so the whole thing was done with circles and squares and that’s it … I’m really proud of it, and when I finished it I couldn’t stop giggling to myself … … oh yeah, and I’m winning a lot of races too …

As for the house countdown? Shari and I are T-Minus Three Weeks and counting … WOO HOO!!!
