… so I apologize to the two people who read this … hi Mom …

So what’s going on in and around Toronto? Not much obviously … otherwise this blog would be flush with entries …

So let’s run down the ‘events’ … Kate has finally found a job … good for her … although I’m not totally convinced she can pull off … a receptionist … Stevie may have found a more believable excuse for not coming out here to TO … he may actually be seeing someone! To which I can only say it’s about damned time …

I have been spending a bit of time with my old High School buddy Wil though … those of you who know him … well, I’ll just leave it at that … he’s my boy but he is an experience unlike any other … but it’s got me to thinking (once again) about friends and family and about what is really important in this life.

It’s not just keeping your friends around you thou … it’s also about not taking any crap in situations where you don’t deserve it. Yeah, I’ve had a couple of people recently in my life pull something like that on me … no one that reads these posts at any rate … but it was a brief conversation I was having with someone online that sparked this. She asked me who the most important person in my life was … and the honest answer I had to come up with was myself.

Just about everyone else around me has got their crap together so I figure it’s high time I started making sure that I was taken care of. It may sound selfish, but it’s the honest truth.

So damnit … I’m going on a date tonight and I’m gonna enjoy it! Heh heh heh …

One Bright Spot to it already being August …

The Succulent Sweetness of a Roasted Red Pepper

Sunday, August 8th, 2004

I just finished having dinner with Karoline … and I gotta say … there’s nothing finer with a meal like a niiiiiice bit of roasted red pepper … mmmmmmm ….

Sorry … it’s like an aphrodasiac to me …

Who’s says rainy days aren’t fun?

OK first off … yes my computer is fixed … yay me … and yes I got to play Doom … ohhhh scary stuff kids!

Now … once again on the way home from the gym, I got rained on … at first I grumbled … and then I went back to my naturally Tao-istic tendencies and realized that the rain is what it is … and I should just appreciate it for that …

That was until I got home dripping wet … heh heh heh

Seriously though … I think one of my favourite things about the rain in the summer time in just the smell of it … there’s a certain scent that just emenates off the hot pavement as it’s rapidly cooled … I love that smell!

Then again I also like to drink vinegear … no accounting for taste I guess …

Computer? What’s a Computer?

(sigh …)

So I went out and picked up Doom 3 … giddy with joy I ran home … only to discover that I didn’t have enough ram …

I’ll skip all the boring details for those who aren’t technically inclined, but the inards of my computer are now splayed out across my desk … which would seem to insinuate that … she’a no work no more … sniff sniff …

So I think I’m switching to console games only now … damnit …

Oh yeah … it’s August … all of you hurry up and spend some quality summer time … and that means you Nardone!

Mmmmm … Windsor Time …

Saturday, July 31st, 2004

Ahhh … just what the doctor ordered …

So I’m sitting out here in Windsor after what was predictably another standard night out with the crew … and man did it feel good. I’m thinking that if you’re silly enough to not have a crew, perhaps you should look into picking one up …

It’s amazing how when you’re with people that mean so much to you the simplest things in life become … like candy … totally sweet and a treat to savour … like sitting in Nardone’s garage, playing Euchre, and telling some people all of our old stories because they’ve never ever heard them before … anyone who has ever hung with this crowd knows exactly what I’m talking about …

“Hey, you remember that time that Dawg crawled up on the hood of your Honda and dented it with his knee?”

“Hey, remember that girl that you two both dated without knowing about it? That means the two of you have kissed!”

“Hey, remember when Stevie tried to talk in Ebonics, but instead ended up suggesting that he should put part of his anatomy into someone’s posterior?”

Ahhh … good times … not the anal intrusions, everything else …

Ahhh … As George Peppard used to Say …

I love it when a plan comes together …

So … tonight it will be the entertaining of Kristy, her sister and husband after the purple one has descended on to town (No, that’s not a phallic reference) … that’s cool because lord knows I love spending time with the K-Lady … so even if it’s just a little bit of time … cha-ching! I’ll cash in on that … : )

Tomorrow … blessed rest … not a damn thing to do … including work … ahhhhhhhh

Friday … pay off a ton of bills … then hit the road and spend the next two night out in Windsor with the crew … now THAT’S what I’ve been missing … the only trick is that Stevie is saying I have to entertain myself on Saturday day … hmmm … what to do? Heh heh heh

All I need to say is three little words

OR the alternative title – Momma never taught me well enough to come in outta the rain …

So last night I was walking home from the gym and I got totally caught in that mini rainstorm … and I had a ball … laughing, jumping in puddles … I think everyone in this world needs to be able to just let go for a few moments and regress back to their childhood …

Keeps us from depressing moments like the previous post … :)
